Associate Director Benjamin Bunte


Mr. Benjamin Bunte is currently the Associate Director of Orchestras at Flower
Mound HS. Before teaching at FMHS, Mr. Bunte was the Director of Orchestras
at Shadow Ridge MS in LISD and Stripling MS in FWISD. He is currently the
TMEA Region 2 Orchestra Division Chair, which covers LISD, Denton ISD and
Northwest ISD.

Mr. Bunte began playing the double bass at age ten in his hometown of Arlington,
Texas. He is a graduate of Arlington High School and was a four-year All-State
bass player during his time there. Mr. Bunte received his Bachelor’s of Music
Performance from the famed Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in 2008.
During his time there, he was the principal bassist for the Oberlin Symphony
Orchestra, the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra and toured through the country of
Italy with the Oberlin Opera Company. In 2009 he moved to New York City to
pursue his graduate studies at New York University in Manhattan. While he was
a student at NYU, Mr. Bunte performed with The Metropolitan Opera, various
Broadway Musicals, movie soundtrack recordings, several chamber orchestras
and the famous hip/hop band The Roots, whom now reside on The Tonight Show
with Jimmy Fallon.

Mr. Bunte was inspired to become an Orchestra Director by his own orchestra
teachers, Mrs. Jenny McHenry, Mrs. Mandy Musser and Mrs. Linda Keefer. He is
an avid woodworker who designs and builds custom furniture and other artistic
creations. He loves spending time with his friends and family, and of course his
amazing wife, Jordan.
