Aaron Gemoets is currently the Assistant Orchestra Director at Flower Mound High School. Before teaching at FHMS, Mr. Gemoets taught at Pioneer Heritage Middle School in Frisco ISD and Ted Polk Middle School in Carrollton. Mr. Gemoets also enjoyed teaching AP Music Theory and orchestra at J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson.
Mr. Gemoets started playing string bass in sixth grade in Las Cruces, New Mexico. While at Mayfield High School he had made the all-state orchestra three times. Mr. Gemoets graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in the fall of 2008. While attending TTU he studied bass with Paul Sharpe and played in the orchestra under the direction of Gary Lewis. Mr. Gemoets has enjoyed playing with other Texas orchestras such has Abilene Philharmonic, Big Spring Symphony, and Midland Odessa Symphony orchestra.
When Mr. Gemoets is not teaching, he loves spending time with his wife, and two daughters. Mr. Gemoets is a big sports fan and loves to watch football and play golf. You will often see him on Sunday playing either drums or bass guitar at his church.
