Dear Orchestra Students/Parents,
I hope this e-mail finds you ready to enjoy a holiday season full of family, friends, music, and joy. We need to let you know that we were informed yesterday that there is a safety/maintenance issue in the auditorium that was just discovered. The district is working quickly and efficiently to resolve it as safety of students is the highest priority, but this means that the auditorium will be closed to all activities until at least December 16th, and maybe beyond. This will mean that we will not have our concert next Tuesday, and it will need to be moved off site. The concert will now be on Monday, December 19th at Lewisville High School in their Auditorium at 7:00pm. I contacted both TWU, where I also teach, and LHS, and they were both happy to have us. We are very grateful to Kevin Sluder, LHS’s orchestra director and their school for accommodating us on such short notice, so we do not have to cancel the concert entirely. The students have worked so hard, and we are really looking forward to them having the opportunity to showcase their work and perform. The expectation is still that students be in attendance, so we really appreciate everyone rearranging their schedules and organizing travel to LHS (1098 West Main St.) to accommodate the change. Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns. We wanted you to know as soon as we did. I know that many families/friends look forward to our Winter Concert the most, so we hope you really enjoy it!
Thanks so much,
